Reality TV

So I watched the finale of “The Apprentice last night.” I don’t think the live aspect of it works but whatever. The Producer(s) keeps doing it season after season and I guess they are not going to stop just because of my opinion. But, they should darn it! It’s very irritating though to be continually interrupted by applause. Anyhoo, I was pleased with the winner. Kendra, (book smart,) won. She did a good job on the two projects she was in charge of especially the last one. The part that impressed me, (and apparently Donald Trump as well,) was that she had a very irritating, high maintenance team and they did a great job for her. Also they ended up adoring her. Having worked in business for many years I know how hard THAT one is too pull off. Good for her. The other gal Tana, (street smart,) impressed me earlier in the show but came across last night as incredibly obnoxious. I know she was supposed to defend herself but yikes. She claimed credit for something she had done, (a design for a brochure,) for which she had not received credit, (and Kendra acknowledged that Tana did indeed deserve the credit.) The annoying thing was that Tana was so busy gloating that she said everything short of “Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah!” It was so tacky and at that point I stopped rooting for her. Anyhoo, congrats to Kendra… I did think it was sexist that the apprentice job choices for the women consisted of helping with the Miss Universe Pagent or supervising a 100 million dollar personal home in Palm Beach. When guys won the last two seasons, they got to build skyscapers or work in the New York office closely with The Donald.

Also in the reality tv genre, I watched “The Bachelor” finale. Actually, I’m not a huge fan of reality shows but I must admit, this show is a guilty pleasure. Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone :-) Anyhoo, I liked “The Bachelor” except for two things. At 3 hours it was too damn long! Can you say “drag it outtttt?” The second thing was the live thing again. I really like live tv but NOT in reality shows. It’s painful to watch “real people” try and be actors. Anyhoo, Charlie picked Sarah B. who I was rooting for. But it was horrid to watch the other girl Krisily, (and I won’t even go into her name lol,) get rejected live then have to discuss it 5 minutes later in front of a studio audience. She handled it with grace and class, (while of course fighting back tears.) Poor girl. Bad enough to be rejected, let alone on live tv. Ewwww!!!!

And they all lived happily ever after…
