I’ve been thinking a lot about friends. What they mean to me, who they are, what a true friend is. I am blessed in that category cause I have GREAT friends. I truly believe to have a friend you must be a friend. Sounds like a needlepoint pillow or something but it is SO true. I’m probably like a Mafia style friend… if you’re my friend then you are my friend always,( I’m not so sure about the murder thing though cause I haven’t had to deal with that… and would rather not thanks all the same!) Anyhoo, is there such a thing as giving too much to our friends? I never used to think so but now I wonder, (I think I’m channeling Sarah Jessica Parker here but bear with me please.) CAN WE GIVE TOO MUCH TO OUR FRIENDS?

Inevitably friends go through hard times and we do our best to be as loving and supportive as possible. And when the tide turns they do the same for us But, sometimes there are so called friends in our lives who just drain us dry. And somehow they are NOT here for us when we are hurting. Or, if they are supportive, it’s the bare minimum they can give. I don’t understand those people. It’s funny in a way cause those people often are the neediest people ever, but somehow seem to have missed out big time on the reciprocal train. I don’t mean that if a person gives that they should automatically expect something in return. That is not the point i’m making. But if you always give to someone and they rarely or never give back then it becomes an issue. I frankly don’t get it. And I think those “friends” don’t get it either but in a different way. I wish those people well but from a substantial distance.

And to MY dear friends, I’ll leave the light on for ya
