Friends and Bloggers

Posted on Tuesday 1 August 2006

I haven’t written a lot about my recent trip to L.A., but meeting my blogger friend Annie Dennison was definitely one of the highlights. Hands down! We have gradually progressed from blog buddies, email pals, phone call cronies, to “real life” friends. And what a fun journey it’s been! Annie and I had brunch at my one of my favorite mexican food restaurants, went shoe shopping, and then met up with her adorable husband for a leisurely supper al fresco. What a fabulous day!

She is such an special person, and I SO want to be Annie when I grow up! I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful friend. I have always felt like my blogger buddies were also my “real life” friends. Some people disagree but I have found such a special community among bloggers. Which I absolutely love.

Be sure and check out Annie’s amazing blog, Smart at Love. And I simply don’t understand why the talk show world hasn’t snapped this woman up yet. She just gets it. And makes us get it too. Which I think is pretty rare.

Gal Pals ROCK.

It’s a joke, Janet, based on the title of your blog ;-)

I think it’s awesome that you guys met up based on your blogging friendship.

I wish there were more bloggers from England and then maybe I could do the same.

Thanks for the link to Annie’s blog–I like it.

And I wish I’d been able to meet some of the Michigan bloggers I know before I moved–there are some seriously cool folk among them.

How cool that you two got to meet, and with sharing the shoe shopping ritual, you two definitely hit it off! ;)

I feel blessed to have found you, too!

You write a wonderful blog, honey, but you are even more special and beautiful in person. So, start thinking about some good spots for our next brunch and shoe shopping expedition together…….in New York.

And hey, the talk show world hasn’t been pounding down my door because they know that I would throw up and faint, in that order, in front of a studio audience. ;-)

I think the blog world is slow today because it’s just too effin’ HOT to do anything!

I think online friendships are special, perhaps even better than “real life” ones because they are based on shared ideas rather than age, geography or social status. I wouldn’t trade my blog friends for the world! :)

Lisa, some people who blog are not real. Myself, I’m just a figment of the imagination.
