Early Bird Special – Revised & Revisited

Posted on Monday 13 November 2006

In an effort to beat the inevitable crowd, I’m celebrating Thanksgiving a little bit early. Thus a few things I’m grateful for:

Mom
Ally da Pup
My family
My loyal and amazing friends
Long slow deep wet kisses that last 3 days, (oops wrong post)
Living in NYC
Zabar’s Coffee
Kevin Federline is about to slither back into the obscurity where he belongs
All the holiday movies coming out
A career I love
Good health
Long legs
Sexy shoes
Lots of parties
Black Friday
Blue jeans worn in to just the right softness
A great book on a lazy day
Balthazar
High Tea
Terra Blue Potato Chips
The holiday season in NYC

And, (stay tuned for the predictable sappy moment,) my fellow bloggers and the fun blogging has brought into my life.

To be continued…

So lets hear a few of yours!

To summarize, I’m thankful for every breath I take. To prioritize, my wife who is my best friend. Everything else is tied for second place.

I’m gonna stick with the old reliables:

Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles, worm woolen mittens, etc.

I too am thankful for women with long legs and sexy shoes. And short skirts.

I’m also thankful for my Wife, kids, music, and pretty much all the blessings I’ve recieved in the last few years.

Like the bloggers that I’ve met. ;)

LIke David M. Bailey sings about in once of his songs, I have a totally different concept about time in my own life anymore and I’m just grateful for everyday that I awake. That is the gift, along with my Mother, my Aunt and great Blog Buds who care like YOU, Lisa B!

I’m also thankful for Terra Blue chips. Especially the ones that Jet Blue gave me for free yesterday.

But I could do without the snowflake lights already being on throughout the UWS. Because for God’s sake, it was 65* Friday night when Rick and I were wandering around, and I was not in the mood for snowflakes.

Whatcha doin’ this weekend? Wanna window-shop 5th Avenue and see the tree at Rockefeller Center? (I know, I know. But it’s not 65* now.)

PTSD. Which is to say, Post Thanksgiving-Stress Dinner. Consisting of a turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sandwich on a hard roll, side of [insert leftover sides here], and a four-pack of La Fin du Monde. Some meaningless sitcom marathon or stupid movie on television. And a nap.

The only problem with this meal is that, in order to be thankful for it, you have to endure the Thanksgiving-stress first. But it’s worth it.

(Leaving Thanksgiving out of it, I am also inordinately fond of the Terra Blue Chips. I could go for some right now, but I haven’t got any. I got the Terra Blue Blues.)

Ooh Terra Chips are mighty delicious. They are expensive though. So that’s all the more reason to be grateful for them when I get ‘em. I’m grateful for lots of corny things- friends, family, health and a few shallow things too, like my tivo and my car.:)

I have lots of things on my list, but the #1 thing is that I have never suffered in any kind of tragedy like 9-11 or Katrina.

I’m also thankful for chocolate and red wine as excellent mood enhancers, and that women’s health has stated they are good for us ;)

That said, I’m now convinced I need new glasses because at first read, I thought you said “lots of panties” instead of “parties”, lol!

Hmmmm… “long, slow, deep wet kisses that last 3 days…” – I’m thankful for movies like that one to get me through these dismal months when there is – gasp – NO BASEBALL!

I’m thankful for my three incredibly fabulous sons who have grown into the coolest young men (not to mention handsome) and that they’ll all be home for Thanksgiving.

I’m really, really thankful to have lived long enough to experience the information revolution and have internet friends.

It’s interesting. Carolyn is thankful not to have gone through anything terrible like Katrina or 9-11, but in an odd way, well, let’s just say I’m really thankful for all the wonderful friends I’ve made in New Orleans since Katrina, through the NOLA bloggers. *sigh*

LisaB, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. :)

Soon to be waking up to D every morning,
My family, each and every wacky one of ‘em,
My friends, who are equally as odd as the family… and to think, I chose them! LOL (this includes my blogger friends!!)
The hamster occasionally letting me sleep an entire night thru.
    My car.
    Waking up every day.
etc, etc. That’s just a handful of ‘em.

Good idea. Let’s see. I am thankful for my health, my wonderful dog, that I have enough money in the bank, that I enjoy my hobbies, that I have great friends, and much more.
