Birthday Girl!

Posted on Thursday 25 January 2007

Yet another birthday is just about here and I’m gonna celebrate big this year! I have a kick ass supper party planned next week with many of my nearest and dearest. I am really looking forward to it! Plus I get to see several of my other wonderful pals for a boozy European style lunch. And of course all my special out of town friends are celebrating with me in spirit. Love it!

Oh and should some incredibly rich thoughtful person wish to spend big bucks to overnight express me a cake from L.A., please order my favorite Triple Berry Shortcake from Sweet Lady Jane. I’ll even share a piece with you. Oh heck, cake for all the blogosphere! Of course it would be even more wonderful if the lovely folks at Sweet Lady Jane actually sent me a cake for all this free publicity. That would rock. Especially since I almost never eat sweets anymore, but am ready to blow all my good intentions for a Triple Berry Shortcake from Sweet Lady Jane. The yummiest cake in the world. I miss it so! Kinda brings tears to your eyes, right? That’s what I thought. I’ll let you know what happens.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I was looking at your favorite cake bakery which, not that I could get it for you, maybe we can all pitch in. :) but it does not appear to deliver anyway. so you’re unfortunate. I saw your favorite immediately on their first page but 1. saw no price, which is just as well unless we get Trump to chip in and 2. no delivery options.
Unless you meant for someone to fly out there and bring it back!! Second thought is that you are worth it. I suppose I’ll fall back on tradition and wish you a simple Happy Birthday this year though. Ally Da Pup, be nice that day.

Nat – Thanks Sweetie! I’m gonna Partay big time this year :-)

    Heather B – Thanks!

Glo – Calorie Free??? You just made my day! Thank you!!!

Andy – If I had the money, I would hire you. What kind of treats do you provide? ;-)

    Love “Lisa B-Day!”

Vince – Thanks! Oh and it’s clean living and a lot of water ;-)

Julie – To be determined ;-)

    Phillip – Thanks!

Serra – Mucho appreciated, dear ;-)

    Paul – I appreciate the thought :-)

The reason the total cost of the cake would be so pricey is that Sweet Lady Jane does not ship their cakes. They are fairly fragile and most need to stay refrigerated. Including my favorite.

Thus, someone would have to “counter to counter” it i.e. hand deliver to the L.A. airport, pay through the nose to get it flown on the next flight to NY, then have it delivered to me.

    OR

Someone would have to hand carry it, (if they could even get it through security!) on a plane from L.A. to NY. And the plane ticket would have to be factored into the price.

    OR

Someone would have to own or lease a a private plane, (and be willing to do this special errand for me.)

Thus the $$$ price tag. Damn it.

If I could, I would charter you a little plane and we’d head over to LaLa Land for a weekend with a stop at the sinful bakery. But I can’t. So you you’ll have to settle for a wild night out here in our very own fair city! Looking forward to it. xo

I can’t tell you about the treats in advance. That would ruin the surprise.

Of course, I can almost guarantee that souvenir cards would be a part of the fun. lol

Dang. I got lost on Sweet Lady Jane’s website. Wow. Those all looked incredible to me. Too bad they don’t ship. They should. We have something similar here called Piece of Cake. They don’t have as much variety and I think they’re not quite as fabulous, but they do ship and they are amazing.

Happy Birthday, LisaB! I hope you got/get some really wonderful goodies!

Happy Happy Birthday. I hope you get your special berry shortcake. Maybe you could get the recipe and one of your wonderful NY friends could make it for you. Or maybe someone will give you a ticket to LA so you can go taste your cake in person. Nice birthday dreams. Have a good one!
