Some good suggestions there; you have to choose what will work with *your* system. Almost any clear hot liquid will help (even plain hot water). “Fake” chicken soup will do wonders if you can’t get homemade. Echinacea works wonderfully for me; careful of the goldenseal at certain parts of your cycle.

And one of the best therapies? Knowing you have friends who care. You will be fine.

When in the state you describe, I rely on Nyquil, Costco-sized boxes of tissues, a humidifier, hot-and-sour soup from chinese takeout and hot toddies made with good whiskey.

Digression: Can you believe that you have to ask nicely and provide ID to get original Nyquil from a pharmacist? Incroyable! I blame those lunatic meth lab operators. Feh!

I take Goldenseal & Echinacea supplement tablets… They reallly help with the sore throat. Chicken soup really does seem to work & if you have an upset stomach I like ginger ale & pretzels!

BTW I am a Jersey girl South Jersey to be exact. And nothing beats a Jersey tomato!

I like Mucinex to help congestion, the doctor told me about it too. Sore throat? Throat medicine and a great excuse to drink hard alcohol. I’ve drunken illnesses out of me before… odd but can work.

I’ve got the plague, too. I think the change of weather did us all in. I’m on heavy doses of Tylenol cold, Zicam, and EmergenC.
