Ally da Pup is frolicking. The air is crisp and cool. The leaves are changing colors. I wore a jacket this morning. We scheduled a trip upstate to go apple picking. And all this means just one thing…
Fall in New York!

First day wearing a sweater and my new sexy boots! Right there with you, girlfriend!
Yes, it’s definitely changing. I saw the first leaf or two falling off a tree on the way to work.
And we’re going to come back from our apple-picking trip loaded with all sorts of varieties with funny names. Braeburn, Macintosh, Empire, Macoun, Gala, Golden Delicious, Northern Spy, Granny Smith, the list goes on and on. It’s a lot of fun to pick one or two of each kind and then have a big taste test.
And then it’s even more fun to unleash Lisa, the “baking maniac,” to see what sort of pies, turnovers, etc. will result. Even in a typical New York kitchen, which is approximately the size of most peoples’ broom closets, Lisa makes amazing stuff, for which I am eternally delighted!
I am so jealous! Here in Los Angeles (minus today and tomorrow) is 100 degrees. Where is fall???? I love the trees changing colors and the air being crisper! Plus, everyone in NY becomes so much cheerier in fall (not to say they are nice, but they definitely have some nicer quirks to them)!
Out here we’re awaiting our first rain fall of the season. It’s supposed to start tonight and continue through most of tomorrow. Good thing I stocked up on comfort foods.
It’s happening down here too and I love it. I actually have the window open letting in a slight brisk breeze in the kitchen ’cause I’m roasting a hen. Gonna have apple stuffing w/it
I can’t wait for fall. It is still far too hot here for me to feel very fallish.

I worked with a guy who wore the same suit for 22 weeks and 3 days. In the fall we had a changing of the suit festival. Oh, what happy memories!
I totally hear you. I absolutely LOVE fall. That’s why I came back here from my travels.
This reminds me of that time that Phoebe bought the taxicab and all the friends including the mooch actor who nobody minded that he mooched off of them like a bloodsucking leech all went to upstate New York because 30-somethings in New York can take time off their job anytime they want and leave their 2,000-square foot apartment three blocks away from Central Park with a balcony and go to a four-star hotel in Upstate New York.
(I never quite figured out the economics of that show–were they all really turning tricks on the side or something!)
I broke out a light jacket on my walk to work for the first time in months! Fall is in the air indeed!
The only thing I’m not liking is around here, it got cold fast! I love watching the leaves change color and fall from the trees
And with Fall, I inevitably get my first cold…
