I’m back from L.A. and I thought I would present you with a brief summary of my trip:

I worked. A lot. Practically nonstop.

One shoot day was a 17 hour day. To break it down, I left for work at 4:00 a.m. and returned home at 10:00 p.m.. My host took one look at my face and gave me a big hug, a glass of wine, and an ear to listen. I have good friends!

Last Saturday, my one <del datetime="2007-03-03T13:56:30+00:00">I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you</del> actual day off, I received over 50 emails and phone calls. I dealt with them in between hanging out with my lovely friend Annie. It was a glorious sunny day, and the company was sublime. We had brunch in Venice, wandered around Santa Monica Beach, oh and saw this guy. We were sitting on a low wall chatting and he was listening to every word we said. I knew he was there, Annie didn’t. I couldn’t really say anything without “giving it away.” She was stunned when I told her afterwards. FYI, I don’t really talk to celebs during their downtime, I sort of leave them alone. I figure they get harassed enough.

Afterwards we left Santa Monica and headed to Melrose. I know this will be a <del datetime="2007-03-03T13:50:34+00:00">puhlease</del> big shock to you guys, but I had a slice of Triple Berry Cake. Annie insisted on treating and it was so yummy! Annie and I always have fun together.

What else did I do? Did I mention I worked nonstop? Oh right, I did. Hmmm. Well, I saw three darling children of two different friends, PJ, Sean and Miss Olivia. They were all quite charming and growing like weeds. I also watched “American Idol” during some of my downtime as my host was a fan. Lakisha rocks by the way.

I unfortunately didn’t get to see quite a few of my buddies because my hours were so long. I will catch them the next trip.

I caught one heck of a cold from my boss – not THAT way you pervs – and am now writing with the following items next to me: NYQUIL, Kleenex, Cold-Eeez, Hall’s cough drops, and Purell. Oh and a pup who was/is very happy to see me.

Is it too early to go back to bed yet? This NYQUIL is making me loopy.

It’s sooo hot in New York. It’s STEAMY, damn it! In the immortal words of Neil Simon,”It’s like Africa Hot. Tarzan couldn’t take this kind of hot.” You ain’t just whistling Dixie, Eugene Morris Jerome! Anyway, yesterday was 90 degrees and about a million percent humidity, (ok a wee bit of exaggeration.) Today is more of the same as is tomorrow. And the day after that? Somewhere around 98 degrees. YIKES, when did I move back to the South?! I’m not sure if this has anything to do with global warming, the ozone layer being eroded on an hourly basis, or it’s just <strike>fucking</strike> summer time. I am SO not a summer kid! Give me snow and sweaters anytime over sweat and heat. I remember reading this book when I was younger and the author described a “sultry” night. I thought that sounded so sexy until I found out it just meant HUMID. Sigh.

My <strike>window unit</strike> air conditioner is blasting, the oscillating fan is blowing, and I am pretty sure Con Ed is going to put a lien on all my future earnings. Ally da Pup is comfy as am I. The dog walks are <strike>mercifully brief</strike> less than fun but hey what can you do? Nada I guess. I’m fantasizing about icy cold alcoholic drinks, a cool ocean breeze and Raoul the Cabana Boy gently waving a palm frond my direction.

Bigger sigh. Oh well. Pass the iced tea will ya? And NOT the sweet tea, Oob! That stuff is NASTY.

*shudders*
