I saw Brad Pitt on a rainy afternoon a few days before the Oscars. I had my hair cut that morning by my longtime L.A. stylist and I looked fierce. And you know how when you feel good it shows? Anyway, I was flitting around, doing errands, and it started to rain. Naturally I didn’t have an umbrella with me. I ran into the drugstore and shook the rain off. I noticed someone walking towards me and looked up. I saw a really handsome, dark haired man with a tan. I couldn’t help it, I stared at him. My first thought was, “This guy is gorgeous.” It suddenly occurred to me he might be a celebrity, (keep in mind all this happened really fast!) Just as I realized that he might be someone famous, the guy gave me a big, sexy, shit-eating grin and said “Hi.” I said, “Hi,” and smiled back. He walked out of the store. I knew that smile from countless films. And I suddenly said to myself, “Damnnnnn, that was Brad Pitt! And he smiled at me! He looked mighty fine with brown hair too!”

Best. Celebrity. Sighting. Ever.

All I can say is Angelina is one lucky gal.

It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad world.

You ever notice that when you’re sick everything seems askew? You have a heightened sense of reality. I never did drugs, but I would imagine it’s the same sensation. The colors seem brighter or dimmer, and everything seems to be happening with a gauzy filter in front of it. Kinda like the black silk stockings cameramen use on lens to soften the look of aging actors.

I started to feel horrible on Wednesday. Luckily it was towards the end of the job, but it still sucked all the same. I traveled back from LA to NY on Thursday morning. FYI, I do not recommend flying with a cold and sore throat. I thought my ears were exploding during the landing – IT HURT! I wanted to scream but didn’t, (probably just as well, I was in no condition to deal with the Feds.) I finally got home, played with my pup, and crashed. Friday and Saturday I was in a total fog. Woozy, achy, sneezy, coughy, and sounding like death warmed over. It hurt to talk so I didn’t. Much. The bummer was I had to work part of the time. And it took every bit of my energy to finish what I promised to do in order to make Fed Ex. I was completely wiped out afterwards. My dog sitter was also sick so I had to walk Ally da Pup. You know you are looking bad when every single person you encounter tells you so. Thanks folks!

Sunday, I started to feel human again but nowhere near good. Today I am coughing my guts out, (lovely visual yes?) and blowing my nose every two minutes. Concentration remains limited at best.

I did catch up with a week’s worth of All My Children reruns on SoapNet though.

Are we having fun yet?

Not so much.

As misery loves company, I want to hear about some of your “inconvenient” sick moments. Not that it’s ever a good time to be sick, but tell me about when the timing absolutely SUCKED. And what happened?

I’m back from L.A. and I thought I would present you with a brief summary of my trip:

I worked. A lot. Practically nonstop.

One shoot day was a 17 hour day. To break it down, I left for work at 4:00 a.m. and returned home at 10:00 p.m.. My host took one look at my face and gave me a big hug, a glass of wine, and an ear to listen. I have good friends!

Last Saturday, my one <del datetime="2007-03-03T13:56:30+00:00">I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you</del> actual day off, I received over 50 emails and phone calls. I dealt with them in between hanging out with my lovely friend Annie. It was a glorious sunny day, and the company was sublime. We had brunch in Venice, wandered around Santa Monica Beach, oh and saw this guy. We were sitting on a low wall chatting and he was listening to every word we said. I knew he was there, Annie didn’t. I couldn’t really say anything without “giving it away.” She was stunned when I told her afterwards. FYI, I don’t really talk to celebs during their downtime, I sort of leave them alone. I figure they get harassed enough.

Afterwards we left Santa Monica and headed to Melrose. I know this will be a <del datetime="2007-03-03T13:50:34+00:00">puhlease</del> big shock to you guys, but I had a slice of Triple Berry Cake. Annie insisted on treating and it was so yummy! Annie and I always have fun together.

What else did I do? Did I mention I worked nonstop? Oh right, I did. Hmmm. Well, I saw three darling children of two different friends, PJ, Sean and Miss Olivia. They were all quite charming and growing like weeds. I also watched “American Idol” during some of my downtime as my host was a fan. Lakisha rocks by the way.

I unfortunately didn’t get to see quite a few of my buddies because my hours were so long. I will catch them the next trip.

I caught one heck of a cold from my boss – not THAT way you pervs – and am now writing with the following items next to me: NYQUIL, Kleenex, Cold-Eeez, Hall’s cough drops, and Purell. Oh and a pup who was/is very happy to see me.

Is it too early to go back to bed yet? This NYQUIL is making me loopy.

Hi there,

I’m taking a short break from Blogland. For all sorts of reasons. But I think the main one is that I want to step away from my computer and just be you know? I need to regroup, clear my head, recharge my batteries … pick your cliche. All I know is that I am burnt out and ready for a change of pace.

First things first, I’m getting the heck out of Dodge! I’ve got a trip scheduled to L.A. very soon. I can’t wait to see my friends, hang out with my cousins, do some job shmoozing, and work on my tan. OH YEA. When I get back to the East Coast, I want to enjoy all the fun of summer in New York. Free concerts, lazy days in Central Park, suppers al fresco, long walks, and exploring new places. I want to enjoy my friends and make some new ones. There is so much I want to do… and there are simply not enough hours in the day. Something has to give. For now anyway.

I look forward to coming back refreshed, with lots of fun stories to share. And I can’t wait to hear what’s been going on with YOU! Until we meet again my friends… be well and take care. Love you guys!
